Rennthai Thai Restaurant

Feelin' bored at my usual eat-outs so i took a trip down clarke quay to check it out..I came across this thai restaurant, Rennthai and let's try it~

Keropok is served before our main dish..munch munch munch~!

This is really good..a combination of side dishes which consists of (from right): thai crackers (seemed to be made of coconut), veggie spring roll, thai fish cakes and bbq satay chicken (my fav). Served with 2 types of sauce for a dip!

Fried chicken with basil leaves coated over with a kind spicy sauce. I lurve the sauce! Taste like curry and the spice is just nice. A very appetizing meal..

My favourite pineapple fried rice! Fried onions added to give a strong flavour and a crunchy effect with every bite...oishii!

Piao Ji Fish Soup

This stall sells the most expensive fish soup (min $5) at a hawker centre but its the tastiest i've tried. Located at Amoy food centre, it is popular among office executives and you may have to queue for at least 30mins.

Personally, i find the soup rather different as compared to most fish soups i've tried elsewhere. Fried onions mixed with lard sits well with the soup to enhance its flavour. No worries, its not oily. I bet the secret recipe lies with the soup..tt's why its soooo outstanding and they dare to charge at $5 (soup only, 30cents for rice). The fish slices are fresh and smooth ( i dont know wat sorta fish is that) but it just taste heavenly. No doubt the price is steep for a hawker meal but its really good that you wont mind paying tt extra dollar.

Also available in fish soup + prawns at $7 and large prawns for $10.

Lan Zhou La Mian

Whenever i make a trip down to chinatown, i'll definitely dine at the famous Lan Zhou La Mian shop located along Smith Street!

Other than just La Mian, they have many varieties in their menu and its widely popular among tourists.

Achar will be served as an appetizer before any main dish.

One of the 'die die must try' dishes..the Chicken Chop La Mian~. The fried tender chicken chop is a perfect combination with 'hand made' La Mian. Mind you~ its 100% hand made...not by machine and noodles are springy with every bite.

Personally, this is my favorite..the Diced Prawn Fried Rice. One of the best fried rice i've ever tasted in my entire life! Every golden rice grain is coated evenly and generously served with juicy diced prawn meat. Woot!

Aaarrrr! The heavenly dish...Xiao Long Tang Bao! Another 'die die must try' favourite. I simply love the soup which ooozes out of from the 'bao' and the filling seemed to melt in my mouth.~ I bet you just cant stop eating!

Last but not least..i cant live without veggies! Oyster Kailan is another heavenly treat to me. Nicely cut kailan coated with a layer of oyster sauce and it adds a sense of complete-ness to every meal!
