Swee Kee (Ka Soh)

Majority of well known celebrities and VIPs may have heard of this place.Famous for its fish head/meat bee hoon and tze char, the makanguru checks it out..

Lets try the famous fish meat bee hoon...

Just one word to describe...'heavenly' I love the soup! Exactly the style it should be...rich and light at the same time. Why rich? It has this attractive sweetness within (i dont know wats their special recipe, XO perhaps?) and light..it gets you addicted.

What about tze char?

Frog legs with spring onions and ginger. It has been ages since i last ate frog legs! The meat is chewy and tasty. Delicious!

Fried Seafood tofu..I wonder how they make this.. by using seafood paste?? Dip them in sweet sauce provided..its crispy with every bite.

The last dish i ordered is fried rice. No picture taken cos i was too engrossed in eating..wahahha..but trust me, its another good dish...

Location: Near Amoy food centre, Telok Ayer street (i think so)
Price: $35++ and above
Rating: Perfecto!

Mini fish soup streamboat

Something unusual here...fish soup in mini steamboat style. I didnt know about this stall exist till i watched a makan programme on channel 8 and i decided to give it a try..
A very interesting way to have your meal by having your 'personal steamboat'.
The soup is thick but a little too milky for me, less milk will be perfect.Served with generous amount of fish meat, vegetables and tofu makes the price worthwhile!

Ban Mian

One of the best ban mian i've tasted in a foodcourt.Usually food served at foodcourts are rather sub-standard but this is different. At an economic price,Ban mian makes a good choice for lunch or dinner. The noodle is not soggy (tat is very impt) and i love the soup most (very rich). I usually ask for extra ikan bilis to be added for crunchiness..hehe

Location: Suntec Fountain foodcourt
Price: $4.00
Rating: Very good

Lerkthai Restaurant

I forgot the actual name of this dish, basically its fried fish slice coated with a layer of sourish sauce and garnished with onions for flavour. Even though its soaked moist in sauce, its crispiness is not lost ! Would taste better if its less salty...

Without fail each time i visit a thai restaurant, its a must to order Tom Yam soup and Pineapple rice. I didnt managed to take a pic of my Tom Yam cos there was too much steam! Yup..back to Pineapple rice..see those juicy prawns?! Too bad..they aint that generous though. Thai herbs added for aroma and crunchy pineapple cubes for the sweetness. Not bad!

The last dish ordered is the sambal kangkong. Hmmm...personally i find it a little light tasting (not spicy enough) but together with the rest it makes my meal complete!

Location: Marina Square lvl 2
