Carl's Jr

This is my number one rated fast food restaurant. Hail to Carl's Jr!!! I simply love it..*slurp* See the advert below? ALMOST ACTUAL SIZE..believe it? To tell you honestly, the burger is large in diameter (another 1/2 more compared to normal burgers) Not that exaggerating lah~ by the way, the advert mentioned "ALMOST".. so don't feel so cheated. =p

What did i order? Santa Fe and fish fillet burger together with criss cross fries and onion rings. The serving size is SOLID! Santa Fe burger is around the same size compared to any burger in BK. It's grilled spicy chicken is coated with a layer of golden melted cheese and garnished with the usual veggies.(lettuce, pickles, onions etc etc..)Its level of spicyness is just right thus the natural taste of grilled chicken isnt covered up, together with its tender and juicy texture makes you feel you're on cloud 9. Fish fillet burger is special too! The serving size is twice of Santa Fe and its different from those breaded fish burgers you take at Mcdonald's or BK. I dont know how to describe..the fish coating is similar to that of Long John's, having 2 pieces put together layered with lots of lettuce and mayonese. Shiok!
I love the criss cross fries!!! That is the best!! Big serving and each piece is close to my palm size..not kidding! Onion rings are very very crispy but hmmm the fries would make a better choice for a side meal.

Plus point here! Free flow of drinks! When you place your order, you'll get an empty cup (size of BK's) and fill it up yourself at the drinks dispenser. Infact one cup is more than enough unless you drink like a camel..

Another plus point! Carl's Jr is different from many fastfood restaurants. Why?? I had my meal on a saturday evening. So i expected getting a seat seems impossible because they are kinda limited but to my surprise, a waitress actually helped us to get a place if we dont mind sharing! Cool! Its really my first time to see such a good service in a FAST FOOD restaurant. On top of that, they provide us with unlimited use of serviettes! That is very impt!

Its definitely a place you must visit. The price is well..slightly more costly than usual fast food restaurants. You pay twice the cost but you get TWICE the satisfaction! Trust me~ you wont regret and you'll come bk for more!

After reading this review...BK, Mcdonald's etc...are dethroned! =ppp

Chin Chin Eating House

When comes to hainan food...its always their hainanese chicken rice that pops into our mind. But there is so much more than chicken rice, the hainanese are famous for their culinary skills and one great place is at Chin Chin Eating House...

Besides being famous for their chicken rice, they have other variety of dishes you can choose from (the 'zhu cao' style). Not to worry, the price is reasonable and it comes in generous servings even for the smallest dish! No GST or service tax!

*drooling* These are a few of my favourite dishes~

Other than Boon Tong Kee, my next favourite is Chin Chin Hainanese Chicken, you can taste its juiciness within. Not kidding! You'll just crave for more!

Its extremely crowded during peak hours and you DON'T have to worry about the long waiting time for a table or your meal. Because they are efficient (meals served in less than 10mins) and they can get you a place outdoor if tables are full inside. Certainly one of the best eating place to bring your friends and family along.

Fei Fei wantan mee

Familiar? It's the famous wantan mee stall in the Joo Chiat district and recommended by makansutra.

Along the junction of Joo Chiat and Everitt Rd, facing diagonally opposite the signs. There are 2 stalls both in different coffee shops, one on the left of this sign and the other on the right. But the one on the left is super crowded...why so? taste better?

Here is it!
So now..wat's so special abt fei fei wantan noodles?

Note the difference? This is an unusual wantan mee. I was shocked when i saw it at first sight, not appealing. The gravy is not ready-mixed, you have to DIY. No soup? If you want to get a bowl of soup, dont bother to ask the stall assistant, her reply will be:"Take it yourself!!" Dont be surprised, everyone is treated the same way. I find this mgt kinda stupid though i know they just wanna be more efficient. Wat's the difference rite? If they can serve you a bowl of noodles, why not serve the soup as well? pengz!!

The noodle texture is springy (quite similar to fishball noodle 'mee kia') and mixes well with chilli sauce on my spoon (lard added for flavour). You cant see the wantan here but all i can say its very tasty. I love it! The soup too! HAHA! I dont mind walking bk for more..=p

Overall conclusion? Not bad~ worth trying. A different style for a wantan mee.
